Financial Controller
The Financial Controller at Next Sense will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can manage financial processes efficiently and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The Financial Controller will work closely with the CFO and Financial Administrator to drive financial performance and support the company's growth objectives.
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including IFRS and local accounting principles.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes.
Collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations, and HR, to support financial planning and analysis.
Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and standards, including IFRS and local accounting principles.
Experience in IT audits, especially ISO 270001, is considered a plus. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of IT controls, ensuring data security, and compliance with information security standards.
Experience with ESG reporting is considered a plus. This involves preparing reports on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability in sustainability practices, and aligning with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices in financial management and reporting to support the company's growth objectives.
We're looking for a profile with the following qualifications:
Fluency in English (basic proficiency in Dutch is preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a similar industry. Experience in SaaS companies is preferred.
Proficiency in financial software, including Exact Online. Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modeling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.

A one-year contract, with the intention to extend (as this is a permanent position).
Holiday pay (8% off the gross salary).
27 vacation days per calendar year.
Remote work: opportunity to work abroad up to 10 days per calendar year.
